Job summary

DSI Innovations seeks a Field Service Engineer to install, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial automation systems at customer sites in Jacksonville and nearby areas, supporting PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, robotics, drives, and control systems.

With 3–5 years in field service or industrial automation, you will travel locally, communicate with customers, and use Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms. DSI offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Field Service, Industrial Automation or Controls Engineering.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC-based control systems.
• Ability to travel to customer sites (local with some regional travel).

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial automation systems.
• Support PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, robotics, drives, and control systems.
• Respond to customer downtime and production issues (on-site and remote).
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system problems.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Provide technical support and customer training.

What You’ll Do

Minimum Qualifications Required

• Experience with a proven track record in Field Service, Industrial Automation or Controls Engineering


• Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience working with industrial automation systems in a field service, manufacturing, or systems integration environment


• Proven experience troubleshooting PLC-based control systems


• Ability to travel to customer sites (local with some regional travel)


• Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience

• Systems integrator or engineering services background


• Experience with PLCs, SCADA, DCS, robotics, servos, and VFDs


• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell, Siemens, and similar platforms


• Experience supporting live production environments This role is ideal for candidates with experience as a Field Service Engineer, Automation Technician, Controls Technician, or Maintenance Technician working with:


• PLCs (Allen-Bradley / Rockwell, Siemens, ControlLogix, PlantPAx)


• SCADA systems (Ignition, FactoryTalk View, Wonderware, WinCC, iFix)


• Industrial automation and systems integration


• Robotics (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, Universal Robots, Yaskawa / Motoman)


• Drives, servos, and motion control


• DCS and industrial control systems
