Overview
MBS is hiring a Field Service Engineer in Erlanger, KY. This position is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Provide onsite service and support to customers, manage day-to-day customer installation, problems, and requests to maintain maximum customer satisfaction; work independently or as part of a team.
- Provide on-site installation, validation and commissioning of equipment and verification of proper operation with testing.
- Perform hands-on on-site troubleshooting, service and repairs.
- Provide high level technical support to external customers at their location.
- Translate customer needs into technical requirements and identify technologies that meet those requirements.
- Evaluate and resolve problems at customer sites or via phone in a timely and professional manner; troubleshoot and provide appropriate resolutions.
- Collect detailed information and determine the most effective method of resolution.
- Provide product training for new and established customers and less experienced staff; explain product performance and benefits.
- Collaborate with Customer Service Coordinator, Product Managers and Sales & Marketing to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution.
- Attend training courses and meetings as required; provide support for trade shows; support client discovery and assessment for the Sales team.
- Follow health and safety guidelines and contribute to a safe working environment.
- Complete administrative tasks promptly (e.g., service reports, travel schedules, expense reports, technical documentation).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of CNC and General Machine Tool Industry experience.
- Associates degree in Electronics and/or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent shop experience; degreed or equivalent experience in electronics and motion systems.
- Familiarity with mechanical, electrical and optical systems; metrology experience is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various customer locations in North America; passport required; primary travel within the 48 continental states.
- Programming and operation skills with CNC controls (Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens and others); advanced knowledge in CNC turning and CNC milling.
- Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, indicators, voltmeters, oscilloscopes and related equipment.
- Travel up to 75% including domestic/international travel and overnight stays.
- Financial readiness to cover travel and expenses such as hotel, flights, car rental and meals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to move or lift 50+ lbs; physical ability to reach, grasp, push/pull, bend, twist, squat and climb; hand-eye coordination; ability to stand for prolonged periods.
- Strong communication skills.
