Role Description

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating and verifying mechanical and electronic equipment related to X-Ray radiology and medical imaging in the Columbus and Dayton, Ohio areas.

Familiarity with multiple vendor equipment is preferred and may perform maintenance on equipment from different vendors.The candidate should be comfortable working independently, and should be an effective problem solver in the medical imaging and electronics fields.Daily tasks include troubleshooting technical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and providing exceptional customer support. Travel to various client sites within our service area is required.

Responsibilities:

·Conduct routine or scheduled inspections, maintenance, and calibration of medical imaging equipment

·Testing and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components to determine root cause of failure

·Researches and initiates orders or repair/replacement parts while maintaining budgetary constraints

·Informs manager with status of repairs, scheduled maintenance, any unusual equipment situations, and all customer concerns

·Clean, replace, or install necessary parts to maintain smooth operation of equipment

·Ensuring all service documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner

Requirements/Qualifications:

·Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field including Electronics, Imaging Technology, Biomedical Equipment Technology or military training

·2+ years of experience in the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting and installation of medical imaging equipment is preferred

·Advanced electrical and electronic knowledge

·Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

·Strong written and verbal communication skills

·Excellent problem-solving skills

·Working knowledge of computers and networking

·Frequently required to operate tools and machinery that use hand and/or foot controls (e.g. drills, saws, electronic test equipment, etc.) when servicing medical imaging equipment

·Frequently required to reach, pull, twist, crouch and/or employ fine motor skills during the installation, servicing and maintenance of medical equipment

·Frequently required to lift, carry or otherwise move up to 50 lbs. while working with medical Imaging equipment with and without assistance

·Valid driver’s license required; travel requirements vary depending on site typically in Central, Southern, or Western Ohio
