ZEISS Group seeks a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain and repair advanced semiconductor inspection systems at customer sites, primarily Fremont, CA. The role blends mechanical, electrical and software work with strong customer interaction.

You will troubleshoot, replace components, train customers, and document activities. Travel internationally to Germany for training and collaboration is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing complex technical systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Semiconductor industry experience strongly preferred; optics exposure is a plus.
• Comfortable working independently in the field and in customer-facing situations.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.

Responsabilités

• Troubleshoot system issues and determine best repair or maintenance solution.

What’s the role?

This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing highly advanced ZEISS semiconductor systems used in the semiconductor manufacturing industry.

The engineer will work directly at customer sites, primarily in the Fremont, CA area, supporting cutting-edge inspection and metrology technology. The position is very hands‑on and combines mechanical, electrical, software, and customer support responsibilities.

Do you qualify?

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing complex technical systems
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and engineering documentation
• Semiconductor industry experience is strongly preferred
• Optics industry experience is a plus
• Comfortable working independently in the field and handling customer‑facing situations
• Strong hands‑on troubleshooting mentality and ability to work under pressure
• Flexible with service schedules and customer support needs
• Comfortable traveling internationally, including training trips to Germany
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English

Compensation

• Salary Range: The annual pay range for this position is $76,000 – $95,000
• Actual compensation will depend on factors such as location, experience, education, skills, and role scope
• Eligible for performance bonus or sales commissions
