Job Description - Field Service Diesel Technician I-75 (250000IV)

** 2,500 Sign-on Bonus **

What You’ll Do:
  1. Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
  2. Repair and Maintain Mobile Equipment. Travel to various job sites or quarries to service, repair, adjust, and test all mobile equipment operating throughout the plant to maximize performance and limit downtime.
  3. Inspect Equipment and Materials. Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors. Perform repairs to address problems when necessary.
  4. Handle and Move Objects. Safely handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools throughout the shop and plant.
  5. Document and Record Information. Ensure correct and accurate documentation regarding all mobile equipment is completed on a daily and monthly basis. Enter and maintain service reports for all the mobile equipment in written or electronic form.
  6. Operate Equipment. When necessary, assist in driving heavy equipment and vehicles throughout the plant to ensure efficient production.
  7. Perform General Physical Activities. Perform physical activities that require moving your whole body and considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
  8. Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
Skills You’ll Need:
  1. Knowledge of Best Practices. Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred.
  2. Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  3. Mechanical Skills. Must know industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
