Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment. This position involves traveling to customer sites, maintaining a safe work environment, and supporting the Service Department with skilled technical work.

As a Field Service Tech III, you will work toward higher levels of service technician roles while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of engines.
• Must own tools applicable to the position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training of lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) daily.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties as needed.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Advanced mechanical aptitude

Strong mechanical background knowledge (engines)
