Job summary
ATC Automation is seeking a Field Service Controls Engineer in Cookeville, TN to support Life Sciences automation systems. You will install, start up, troubleshoot, and validate customized equipment at customer sites worldwide, collaborating with engineering teams and providing hands-on field service.
The role demands strong PLC programming, electrical/pneumatic expertise, and the ability to travel frequently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls/Automation preferred.
- 5+ years in controls engineering, field service, automation, or related role.
- Strong troubleshooting of automated manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to travel up to 75% (domestic and international).
- Excellent communication with customers and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Install, startup, troubleshoot, validate, and support custom automated equipment.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support for field installations.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, robotics, and controls issues.
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to keep projects moving forward.
- Document troubleshooting activities and solutions for knowledge transfer.
