Job summary

BLOOM ENERGY is hiring a Field Service Apprentice (Fixed Term) in Ada County, Idaho, to gain hands-on experience maintaining Bloom Energy servers and fuel cell systems. The role offers a structured training path, focusing on safety, mechanical and electrical maintenance, and problem solving in a dynamic environment.

The position runs for about 6 months (~1,200 hours) beginning October 2026, with travel for training as needed and a strong emphasis on independent work, teamwork, and sound judgment

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an electrical apprenticeship program.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude.
• Training will cover fuel cell mechanical systems, piping, plumbing and valve operation.
• Exposure to 3phase systems, UPS, electrical and mechanical maintenance, and power electronics.
• Experience with test & measurement equipment and safety procedures is preferred.
• Able to communicate in English and follow procedures precisely.

Responsibilities

• Learn to become a primary driver for maintaining Bloom Energy servers, ensuring reliability.
• Learn and perform fuel cell system maintenance, site upkeep, safety protocols, and issue resolution.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team.

We are looking for a Field Service Apprentice (Fixed Term) to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to Field Service Regional Manager and will be based in Ada County, Idaho.

Role and Responsibilities

• Fixed term for approximately 6 months or approximately 1,200 hours from October 2026, through March 2027.
• Learn to become a primary driver for maintaining Bloom Energy servers, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Learn and perform fuel cell system maintenance, site upkeep, safety protocols, and issue resolution.
• Demonstrate proficiency in working independently and collaboratively within a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
• We will train you to gain a comprehensive understanding of diverse electrical and mechanical systems, enabling effective troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Will be based in Ada County, Idaho.

Skills and Experience

• Enrolled in an electrical apprenticeship program
• We are looking for someone with strong mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude.
• Our training program will help you understand fuel cell mechanical systems, piping, plumbing and valve operation
• This job will expose you to 3phase systems, UPS (back-up power) systems, electrical and mechanical maintenance, electrical generation and distribution systems, power electronics, Automatic Transfer Switch Systems, and microprocessor-based control platforms.
• Experience with various test and measurement equipment, electrical codes and personnel safety products and procedures is preferred.
• You will learn about monitoring systems in operation
• Basic understanding of requirements of working safely
• Understanding of basic troubleshooting techniques and skills
• Highly motivated and able to work independently
• Demonstrates sound judgment
• A team player who exhibits a high level of integrity and professionalism in all situations
• Able to communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal form to facilitate duties as required
• Able to follow procedures and execute sequenced work instructions from either written and/or verbal communications
• Able to facilitate shift work as needed
• Able to travel as needed for training

Salary Ranges: $24.05 - $34.61
