LVI Associates is seeking a Senior Field SCADA Engineer to deploy and validate Ignition SCADA systems at data centre sites. The role is field-based with 50-60% travel, focusing on hands-on deployment, commissioning, and turnover to clients.

The candidate will perform point-to-point verification, onsite testing, and field support across desktop, tablet and mobile views, ensuring systems meet design requirements and performance expectations.

Responsibilities

• Travel to client sites (50-60%) to support deployment and commissioning of Ignition SCADA systems for data centre BMS and EPMS applications.

• Conduct onsite testing and validation of Perspective projects, HMIs and visualization systems during commissioning phases.

Type: Full-time - field-based, 50-60% travel

About the role

The Senior Field SCADA Engineer is responsible for the deployment, commissioning and validation of Ignition SCADA systems in mission-critical data centre environments. The role is field-focused and client-facing, requiring extensive travel (50-60%) to support onsite and remote implementation activities. The successful candidate will work closely with development teams to deploy SCADA packages, conduct point-to-point verification, carry out commissioning activities and ensure successful system turnover to customers. The emphasis is on hands-on deployment support rather than development, making sure engineered solutions function correctly in production environments.

Field deployment & commissioning

• Travelling to client sites (50-60%) to support deployment and commissioning of Ignition SCADA systems for data centre BMS and EPMS applications
• Executing point-to-point verification of SCADA graphics, data points, alarms and control sequences to ensure accuracy and compliance with design specifications
• Conducting onsite testing and validation of Perspective projects, HMIs and visualisation systems during commissioning phases
• Supporting commissioning teams through system integration, functional testing and performance verification

System validation & quality assurance

• Performing user acceptance testing (UAT) and interface validation against client requirements and operational standards
• Verifying functionality of graphics templates, custom components, interactive visualisations and 3D floorplans in deployed environments
• Validating data integration between front-end interfaces and back-end systems (PLCs, databases, historians)
• Testing alarm functionality, trend displays and real-time data presentation across desktop, tablet and mobile platforms
• Troubleshooting visualisation issues, display errors and user interface problems in live production settings

Client support & turnover

• Working directly with clients to demonstrate system functionality and deliver hands-on training during turnover
• Supporting clients through user acceptance processes and addressing questions during go-live phases
• Providing technical support and troubleshooting during and after system deployment
• Coordinating with development teams to implement field-identified corrections or adjustments to SCADA packages

Documentation & knowledge transfer

• Documenting commissioning activities, point verification results and system configurations for project closeout
• Creating punch lists and tracking resolution of field issues identified during deployment
• Feeding back to development teams on field performance and user experience observations
• Maintaining accurate records of as-built conditions and field modifications for client turnover packages

Requirements

• 5+ years' experience with Ignition SCADA systems, particularly Ignition Perspective, in field deployment or commissioning roles
• Hands-on experience with point-to-point verification, commissioning and validation of SCADA/BMS systems
• Strong understanding of Ignition Perspective interfaces, graphics, templates and visualisation components
• Experience working with PLCs, communication protocols and data integration in operational environments
• Proven troubleshooting skills across interface, data connectivity and display issues in the field
• Able to work independently onsite with minimal supervision during commissioning and turnover
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills for training, demonstrations and issue resolution
• Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to testing and verification
• Willing and able to travel 50-60%, including potential extended site assignments
• Valid driver's licence and ability to travel domestically, and internationally as needed
• OSHA 10 certification obtained within the past two years - where this isn't current, training will be provided and must be completed within the first week of employment
• Associate or bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or a related technical field
• Experience with data centre or mission-critical facility BMS/EPMS systems
• Familiarity with SQL databases, historians (e.g. Canary, Ignition Historian) and MQTT protocols
• Knowledge of role-based access, security configurations and dashboard customisation
• Experience with remote support tools and methodologies
• Understanding of construction and commissioning processes in large-scale facilities
• Background in user acceptance testing and quality assurance methodologies
