Job summary

BurnBot is seeking Field Operations Specialists to join our on-the-ground wildfire fuel reduction crews in Oregon. This hands-on role requires outdoor work, using chainsaws and hand tools to cut and clear vegetation, with a focus on safety and field protocols.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year experience in forestry, wildland fire, fuels mitigation, or vegetation management and are willing to travel up to the west coast as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience operating and maintaining a chainsaw for 1+ year.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform physically demanding outdoor labor.
• Willingness to travel 5+ days along the west coast, up to 75% of the time.
• Strong safety mindset and adherence to field protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate chainsaws, hand tools, and brush-clearing equipment.
• Limb, buck, drag and pile brush and small trees.
• Support fire mitigation and land management projects.
• Maintain a clean, safe worksite and follow safety protocols.
• Travel to job sites, including remote locations.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained.
• Perform minor repairs on tools and equipment.
• Assess site and weather conditions to ensure team safety.
• Demonstrate bias for action and adaptability.
