Job summary

SGS is seeking a Field Operations Technician I in Mobile, AL to collect samples, observe processing, and support laboratory analysis under supervision. You will handle sample preparation, labeling, and delivery to the lab, while adhering to safety protocols and PPE requirements.

The role involves operating basic sampling equipment, following written instructions, and maintaining organized work areas with attention to quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• No experience required unless state law.
• Valid driver’s license may be required if driving a company vehicle.
• MSHA certificate training may be required (training offered by SGS).
• Intermediate English required, basic math skills.
• Ability to read and follow safety procedures precisely.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples from products or materials for lab analysis.
• Label containers with data, location, date and time.
• Deliver samples to the laboratory for analysis.
• Prepare samples and perform reduction/division as needed.
• Maintain organized work areas and clean equipment after use.
