Job summary

SGS North America Inc. is seeking an entry-level Field Operations Technician I to perform sampling and observation for laboratory analysis. You will work under supervision, collect samples from various transfer points, ensure proper labeling and paperwork, and deliver them to the lab for testing.

Responsibilities include sample preparation, keeping equipment clean, wearing PPE, and following safety procedures. Some roles may require related lab duties as needed by the business.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• No experience required unless state law requires.
• Driver's license may be required if driving a company vehicle.
• TWIC may be required for Transportation Worker Identification.
• MSHA certificate may be required; training available through SGS.

Responsibilities

• Collects samples as product and/or raw materials transferred to containers, vessels, barges, trucks, and/or rail.
• Delivers samples to laboratory for analysis.
• Performs preparation of samples, reduction and division of appropriate sizes.
• Gathers samples at specified locations, states of processing and time intervals.
• Performs sample screening and/or related tests and ensures containers/equipment are cleaned before/after use.
• Ensures PPE is worn and compliance with safety procedures is followed.
