Position Overview:

As a key member of Bayer's commercial team, you will play a vital role in achieving assigned targets with Bayer products, collaborating closely with your squad-mates to deliver squad goals successfully. You will develop and implement dealer business plans, manage forecasting, inventory, and product line demand issues, and serve as a business consultant to retailers and dealers, effectively selling the value of Bayer Crop Science products. Your expertise in agronomic knowledge and product performance will champion Bayer brands, and you will collaborate with Field Sales Reps, Customer Business Advisors, Technical Agronomists, and other team members to maximize services and sales to preferred growers and key customer accounts. You will actively manage inventory concerns, analyze market information, and follow strategies to achieve business plans for key accounts and assigned areas. Your initiative in expanding selling skills and product knowledge will drive top and bottom-line growth, and you will manage relationships with top growers and retailers, acting as a mentor to FSR interns and junior FSRs. Travel is an essential part of the role, with approximately 60% of your time spent in face-to-face customer interactions.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Achieve assigned targets with Bayer products in coordination with squad-mates;
  • Support the delivery of squad goals through collaborative efforts;
  • Develop and implement dealer business plans, manage forecasting, inventory, and product line demand;
  • Serve as a key business consultant to retailers and dealers, selling the value of Bayer Crop Science products;
  • Champion Bayer brands and demonstrate product performance against competitors;
  • Collaborate with Field Sales Reps, Customer Business Advisors, Technical Agronomists, and other team members to maximize services and sales;
  • Manage inventory concerns to meet business objectives;
  • Analyze market and competitive information to drive business decisions;
  • Follow strategies for achieving business plans for key accounts and assigned areas;
  • Manage expenses and program payments for growth;
  • Expand selling skills and product knowledge;
  • Ensure program execution and fulfillment, including marketing initiatives;
  • Manage relationships with top growers and retailers, planning for customer business needs;
  • Mentor FSR interns and junior FSRs;
  • Manage area claims per Bayer Crop Science policy and process;
  • Travel approximately 60% for face-to-face customer interaction.
WHO YOU ARE:

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated product, portfolio, and agronomic knowledge preferred;
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, oral, and written);
  • Initiative, assertiveness, and ability to drive results;
  • Strong business acumen, account planning, influencing, and critical thinking skills;
  • Financial, time, and territory management proficiency;
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a rapid-paced and matrixed environment;
  • Strong computer and presentation skills (proficiencies in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
  • Demonstrated digital acumen and ability to analyze data to influence decisions;
  • Willingness to travel and live/work in a rural environment;
  • Proven interest in supporting customer needs and driving market share growth;
  • Must have a valid driver's license and are able to drive for the company that may fall under DOT/FMCSA jurisdiction, including hauling trailers, products, supplies, or equipment safely as required for the role.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in sales, marketing, account management, or agriculture OR other education level and 7+ years of listed experience.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $70,068.82 - $105,103.24. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
