Job summary

Bayer CropScience seeks a Field Sales Rep II for Central Missouri. This role drives Bayer product sales through dealers, develops business plans, forecasts and manages inventory while serving as a trusted advisor to retailers.

You will collaborate with field teams to maximize service quality and market share in crops protection, seeds and traits. The ideal candidate has strong communication, planful thinking, and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve assigned targets with Bayer products in coordination with pod mates.
  • Develop and implement dealer business plans, manage forecasting proactively, inventory management and product line demand issues.
  • Serve as the key business consultant to retailers and dealers and effectively sell the value of Bayer Crop Science products.
  • Demonstrate product performance against the competition and be the champion of Bayer brands and knowledge; collaborate with teammates to maximize services and sales.
  • Manage inventory to meet business objectives and gather market/competitive information.
  • Use data to make key decisions and follow strategies for long and short term plans for key accounts.
  • Manage expenses and program payments per Bayer policy.
  • Grow selling skills and product/portfolio knowledge; support national/regional marketing initiatives.
  • Partner with field sales and CBAs to maintain relationships with top growers and retailers; plan for customer needs.
  • Act as mentor to interns and trainees as requested; manage area claims and processes accordingly.

FIELD SALES REP II Central Missouri
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Achieve assigned targets with Bayer products in coordination with pod mates (other Bayer commercial employees in the same geography);
  • Develop and implement dealer business plans, manage forecasting proactively, inventory management and product line demand issues, set the business direction, and coordinate follow ups with dealers;
  • Serve as the key business consultant to retailers and dealer and effectively sell the value of Bayer Crop Science products;
  • Demonstrate proof of product performance against the competition by being the champion of Bayer brands and product/technical/agronomic knowledge; Collaborate with pod mate Field Sales Representatives (FSRs), Customer Business Advisors (CBAs) and Bayer Agronomists (TAs) and Technology Development Representatives (TDRs) to maximize services, information, and sales to preferred growers and key customer accounts;
  • Actively manage inventory concerns as appropriate to ensure success of meeting business objectives;
  • Gather, assimilate and analyze market and competitive information;
  • Utilize data to make key decisions to drive the business;
  • Follow set strategies for achieving long and short business plans for key accounts and assigned area;
  • Effectively manage expenses, discretionary dollars and program payments per Bayer Crop Science policy;
  • Show initiative in expanding selling skills and product/portfolio knowledge;
  • Ensure achievement of program execution and program fulfillment, including national/regional marketing initiatives;
  • Successfully partner with pod mate FSRs/CBAs and manage the relationship with top growers and retailers;
  • Act as the business expert for top growers and retailers, while planning for customer business needs;
  • Act as mentor to FSR interns, Trainees, or more junior FSRs as requested by leadership;
  • Manage area claims per Bayer Crop Science policy and process through effective problem solving, execution, administration and resource management;
  • Travel approximately 60% (primarily day travel in the listed geography);
  • Grow market share of Crop Protection/Seed and Trait business and create demand for seed growth, seed and trait, and chemistry within territory.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to pass driving record background check (i.e. moving violations, accidents, License suspension, etc).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree;
  • Bachelor's degree and 3 + years experience in Sales, marketing, account management or agriculture OR other education level and 7+ years of listed experience;
  • Demonstrated product, portfolio and agronomic knowledge;

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $72,000.00 - $108000.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
