Job summary

Palmer Food Services in West Seneca, NY seeks a full-time District Sales Representative to drive field sales and manage core accounts in a multi-line product portfolio. The role emphasizes planning, presentations, and proactive customer engagement to meet annual targets.

You will handle quotes, orders, pricing procedures, and travel to client sites, with approximately 5% overnight trips and strong emphasis on relationship building and territory growth.

Qualifications

• 3+ years outside sales experience in a business-to-business environment.
• Food service or culinary experience required.
• Clean driving record and a valid driver license.

Responsibilities

• Executes the Account Management Program including sales planning, controls and sales reports.
• Establishes a personal planning calendar to manage time: 80% direct sales in the field, 10% phone sales, 10% admin work.
• Develops a complete understanding of product lines and communicates benefits to customers.
• Completes quotes and orders, learning procedures for pricing, purchasing, credit and delivery.
• Plans weekly activity with District Sales Manager to maintain core accounts and penetrate target accounts.
• Performs customer calls and rides with management or suppliers for training.
• Budgets and measures results, prepares forecasts with activity assumptions.
• Attends sales meetings, trade shows, and company promotions.
• Handles Accounts Receivable collections and coordinates with Credit Department.
• Supports Customer Service as needed.
• Overnight travel ~5%
• Performs other duties as assigned.
