Position: Field Sales Engineer - Commercial Products Groups

Amphenol High Speed and Commercial Products Groups are leaders in high-speed, high-bandwidth electrical connectors for the Strategic Market (Networking/IT Data Communications). We are seeking a Field Sales Engineer to join our Focused Markets team, primarily remote but based in the Southeast.

Summary: Our success depends on solving advanced problems related to high bandwidth signal transmission. We value our relationships with our clients and rely on our Sales and Field Applications Engineering Teams to foster ongoing partnerships.

As a Sales Engineer, you will interact with external customers and internal teams to promote Amphenol products within your territory, targeting OEMs and distributors through design win activities and channel management. You will develop strategies to differentiate our solutions, expand our customer base, and increase penetration at existing accounts, including global key accounts. This role provides insight into Sales, Marketing, Technical, and Product Development functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide sales leadership, collaborating with Field Applications Engineers and Business Units.
  • Promote and sell products to existing and new prospects.
  • Manage large OEM accounts and drive activity across global sales channels.
  • Coordinate Networking, IT, and Datacom strategies across North America, interfacing with sales reps, distributors, and international teams.
  • Identify interconnect opportunities and work with customer engineering teams to design in new products.
  • Develop and implement sales and growth strategies for your territory.
  • Achieve sales quotas through new design wins and channel management.
  • Motivate customers to increase product content in their designs.
  • Support technical sales aspects, including marketing and product development.
  • Resolve complex interconnect issues and handle technical inquiries.
  • Track orders and revenue, build customer rapport, and provide support with samples, specifications, and quality issues.
  • Stay informed about market trends and new products.
  • Conduct regular customer visits and travel as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering with a technical background.
  • Business/Marketing aptitude.
  • Knowledge of interconnect solutions industry; experience in energy storage, eMobility, or lighting is a plus.
  • 3+ years of relevant field sales or applications experience, preferably in energy markets.
  • Understanding of international business practices is advantageous.
