Job summary

GHD, a global professional services leader, seeks a Field Safety Professional to support mining and oil and gas projects in California and New Mexico. This field-based role emphasizes safe work practices, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across sites.

You will lead safety meetings, review plans, investigate incidents, and coach project teams toward proactive safety leadership. Requires 5+ years in HSE, degree in safety or related field, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in occupational safety, environmental health, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of health and safety experience in mining, oil and gas, construction, or other high-hazard operations.
• Knowledge of HSE management systems, risk assessment, incident investigation, and applicable safety regulations.
• Strong communication, field coaching, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently in the field and travel as needed.

GHD has openings in California and New Mexico for a Field Safety Professional with experience in mining and oil and gas operations.

Salary: $31.26 - $52.10, varies based on experience and location.

401K - Employees are eligible to participate on the first day of the month following 3 months of service

Paid time off - Our PTO benefit is designed to provide eligible employees with a period of rest and relaxation, sick , and personal time throughout the year. PTO starts at 16 days per year and increases with years of service

Holiday Pay - Holiday pay is provided for eligible employees. GHD observes 9 holidays per year. Holiday pay will be based on the regular set schedule for the employee

Wellness Benefit- Regular full-term employees are eligible to participate in the wellness reimbursement program . GHD will reimburse 50% of the cost of the following to maximum of $250.00 reimbursement annually for such items as: Health club membership fees, Home exercise equipment purchases, Bicycles, Race, run & marathon entrance fees, Smoking cessation programs, Weight loss programs (i.e.-Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig), Fitbits and Fitness tracking devices
