Job summary

Momentum Environmental Services is seeking a Safety Technician to support the Health & Safety Manager in promoting a safe work environment. The role involves field support, training coordination, compliance, inspections, and employee engagement across multiple sites in the Northeast.

The position offers opportunities to gain hands-on experience in environmental and industrial services, with travel to branches and job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction or General Industry certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Confined Space Training preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• 0-2 years of safety, environmental, construction, industrial, or related experience preferred.
• First Aid/CPR certified.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in industrial environments including outdoor conditions.
• Excellent, written, oral and presentation skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Health & Safety Manager with day-to-day administration of the Health & Safety Program.
• Conduct routine job site visits to observe work practices, identify hazards, and reinforce safe procedures.
• Perform safety inspections and audits, and participate in corrective actions.
• Learn and train field staff in the Safety Management system.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and first aid cases; document findings and corrective actions.
• Maintain training records, certifications, and employee safety files in cloud-based system.
• Coordinate employee training including HAZWOPER, OSHA, First Aid/CPR, and site-specific requirements.
• Train staff on toolbox talks, safety alerts, and other safety communications.
• Support development of JSAs, Safe Work Practices, and other safety documentation.
• Maintain safety metrics, OSHA logs, and other compliance documentation.
• Travel to branches and job sites to provide safety support as needed.

Education

High school diploma or GED
