Job summary

Kraemer North America in the Upper Midwest region (WI/IL/IA) is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support project teams. The role reports to the Safety Manager and will lead implementation and continuous improvement of safety programs, with travel up to 75%.

The successful candidate will conduct safety orientations, site assessments, and develop Site Specific Safety Plans while collaborating with project managers, risk analysts, and field supervision to promote a Safe Life culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety or related field with extensive coursework and/or expertise in Risk Management and Loss Control, Construction Management, and field safety.
• Construction Safety & Health Technician (CSHT) is preferred.
• Experience in heavy civil/bridge construction is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and FRA regulations.
• Computer literate: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.

Responsibilities

• Work with field supervision to assess and document work practices and ensure Kraemer policies are supported by management and practiced by employees.
• Coordinate and conduct safety training and new hire orientation.
• Act as the project's representative in occupational safety and health and assist project management in Work Activity Planning and implementing Safety Programs.
• Develop Site Specific Safety Plans for projects and monitor site conditions (air quality, illumination, wind, dust).
• Investigate serious incidents and determine root causes for corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
• Integrate behavioral safety practices and provide leadership for Safe Life culture.
