Job summary

INDOT Vincennes District is hiring a Construction Project Inspector to perform routine site inspections, evaluate workmanship and safety, and document findings with photos and reports.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED; optional CDL training and certifications may be pursued during employment. Eligible candidates may advance to Highway Technician roles with pay progression.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL or ability to obtain CDL within 90 days.
• Knowledge of highway guidelines, standards and testing procedures.
• Ability to lead field crews and coordinate work fronts.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction sites for safety, workmanship and compliance.
• Perform material testing sampling and record results.
• Maintain and repair equipment and document daily activities.
• Coordinate with contractors and supervise field crews.
• Support winter operations and reporting responsibilities.
