Job summary

Irby Construction Company in Central Florida seeks a Safety Coordinator with at least three years in safety/training and two years in electric transmission or substation construction. The role requires in-depth knowledge of OSHA codes and standards and a commitment to safety across our projects.

You will monitor field work, document safety performance, coordinate with project teams and regulatory agencies, and help lead safety meetings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years in Safety/Training.
• At least two (2) years in Electric Transmission and/or Substation construction and maintenance.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate field work to ensure safety according to specifications.
• Document safety observations and provide feedback.
• Submit crew observation and equipment forms to supervision and safety department at required intervals.
• Ensure equipment and work conditions meet safety requirements.
• Inspect PPE, fall protection, rigging and insulating equipment.
• Coordinate with customers, insurers and agencies for site inspections.
• Lead weekly safety meetings and tailgate talks.
• Investigate incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective measures.
