Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 12 years of engineering experience in heavy industrial, LNG/oil & gas projects.
  • Strong background in discipline work, codes, standards, and industry practices.
  • Experience with rotating equipment and both greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • PE preferred

  • Provide technical leadership and deliver compliant engineering solutions.
  • On-site support for construction, commissioning, or turnover.

This role provides technical leadership and site engineering expertise for LNG projects, with a focus on rotating and packaged equipment construction support, start-up, and commissioning. The position supports construction phases by interpreting and adjusting designs to meet site conditions, overseeing construction supervision, and providing final approval of completed tasks to ensure work conforms to design specifications. Acts as a lead when appropriate. Provides consultation to engineering and construction site management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and ensure delivery of high-quality, compliant engineering solutions
  • May provide or lead on-site support for construction, commissioning, or turn over.
  • Construction and Site Oversight, monitor on-site installation and mechanical completion of critical rotating assets to verify adherence to design specifications and safety rules.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support integrated project delivery.
  • Support procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure adherence to client and/or company specifications, governing codes, and good engineering practice.
  • Interface with clients and stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful outcomes.
  • Commissioning and Start-Up support, lead equipment checkout, testing, and handover phases from construction contractors to plant operations.
  • Resolve field-initiated engineering questions and troubleshoot machinery issues during construction or pre-commissioning
  • Make independent decisions and set priorities related to complex situations.
  • Work with self-initiated interaction with supervisor and self-initiated technical guidance.
  • Review work for technical accuracy and adequacy. Plan, control & report on project work.
Qualifications
What You Will Bring
  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Experience in mechanical engineering within the LNG, oil & gas or energy sector.
  • Minimum of 12 years of engineering experience, with specific hands‑on involvement in heavy industrial, oil and gas, chemical, or LNG/FLNG construction projects.
  • Has a strong background in discipline work, and a competent understanding of regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry standard practices.
  • Well versed in discipline setup, instituting work processes, monitoring a team, producing deliverables, project controls, and project closeout.
  • Strong knowledge of rotating equipment.
  • Experience with both greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Installation, preservation, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting.
  • Reliability improvement, root cause analysis, failure analysis, and maintenance support
  • Interface with process, piping, electrical, instrumentation, controls, procurement, construction, and operations teams
  • Brownfield modification experience, field verification, and resolution of RFIs / technical queries
  • OEM coordination and review of equipment manuals, operating procedures, and maintenance requirements
  • Knowledge of safety, operability, and lifecycle considerations for critical machinery
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in LNG, FLNG, and gas processing projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Experience in selecting and working with all types of pumps, compressors, package equipment.
  • Knowledge of API, ANSI, NEMA, ASTM specifications.
  • Experience working on projects from early conceptual to detailed engineering and on to project start-up and operations support
