Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers is seeking a Rodman to support land surveying projects under the direction of the Party Chief. You will clear obstructions, set up rods, prisms, and tripods, and help carry equipment to ensure accurate measurements in the field.

You will assist with monument identification, plumb prisms, measure distances, and maintain gear and supplies in varying weather conditions. Team collaboration and reliability are essential for daily field operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to grasp basic surveying concepts and techniques.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; interact effectively with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Clear brush and obstacles to maintain line of sight.
• Carry and set up rods, tripods, and prisms for staking and measurement.
• Load and unload survey equipment and supplies for job assignments.
• Maintain survey supplies and ensure crew is prepared for daily tasks.
• Search for and identify monuments; plumb prisms for accuracy.
• Measure distances using chains or tape; keep equipment clean and functional.
