Job summary

GITAI is seeking a Field-Deployed Software Engineering Intern to support development, integration, and testing of robotics and space hardware. The role involves real hardware, data acquisition at outdoor test sites, and software work in areas like robotics, computer vision, and GNC.

Strong preference for hands-on, cross-disciplinary problem solving and willingness to travel to desert test sites near Los Angeles.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed BS/MS in CS/Robotics/EE/AE.
• At least 1 year hands-on contribution to robotics/related hardware projects.
• Available to work at least three days per week.
• Able to spend Wednesdays and Thursdays at outdoor test site near Los Angeles.

Responsibilities

• Support weekly field testing: setup, bring-up, data acquisition, logging, monitoring, troubleshooting.
• Develop and debug software for robotics, computer vision, GNC, or related systems.
• Diagnose problems across software and hardware, including sensors and actuators.
• Build scripts and lightweight tools for data collection and test automation.
• Review test data/logs, reproduce failures, identify root causes and fixes.
• Document test configurations, issues, findings, and software changes for team action.
