Job summary

Beck's Hybrids is seeking a Research Associate to support the Research Department in Goehner and surrounding Nebraska locations. The role focuses on conducting mini-strip and replicated testing, coordinating plot logistics with cooperators, and collecting agronomic data across diverse plots.

Responsibilities include seed preparation, planting, data collection, and maintenance of plots while ensuring compliance with Beck’s Hybrids’ standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma or GED; advanced degree preferred.
• Class A CDL or the ability to obtain.
• Pesticide applicator license or the ability to obtain.
• Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate plot locations and logistics with plot cooperators.
• Seed preparation for mini-strip and replicated testing.
• Planting of mini-strip and replicated plots and transporting planting equipment.
• Data collection: stand counts, early vigor, plot ratings and flowering data.
• Plot maintenance including fertilization, weed control, and insecticide applications.
• Plot harvest: logistics, notes, and yield-related data for product development.
• Data reporting and warehousing: ensure accurate records and seed deliveries.
