JOB DESCRIPTION

TMZ, the world’s foremost entertainment news organization, has an immediate opening for a Field Reporter in Los Angeles. The ideal candidates must have the “gift of gab” and a passion for entertainment news. Candidates for this Field Reporter/Associate Producer position must be a self-starter with an outgoing personality and knack for engaging celebrities with fun conversation and relevant questions. A deep knowledge and familiarity of celebrities, pop culture and/or Sports is also a must. This is not an on-air position and is based in the field. Candidates must be flexible with working night and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct on the spot interviews with celebrities, influencers, and athletes in the field
• Familiarize yourself with restaurants, shops, gyms, and other locations as “hot spots” for potential interviews
• Build relationships with sources to gain insight and access to potential interviewees
• Stay up to date on trending topics and viral stories for the TMZ brand
• Conduct livestreams from the field for events and press conferences, as needed

Requirements:

• Requires solid knowledge of celebrity pop culture, social media, and current entertainment industry trends
• Must have strong phone and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with others

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $20.00-22.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
