Job summary

Soarnol in La Porte, Texas is seeking a Maintenance Reliability Engineer to own equipment reliability in a hands-on chemical manufacturing setting. You will spend roughly half your time on reliability initiatives, with substantial field support and involvement in capital projects.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years in a chemical plant, and has hands-on experience with rotating machinery, pumps, seals, and pressure vessels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years in a chemical plant environment.
• Hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing rotating and stationary equipment.
• Knowledge of pumps, seals, bearings, piping, valves, tanks, and pressure vessels.
• Familiarity with RCFA, RCM, FMEA and asset criticality concepts.
• Understanding of Process Safety Management in relation to asset integrity.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues alongside Maintenance and Operations with engineering input.
• Improve reliability and performance of rotating and stationary equipment.
• Investigate recurring failures and develop practical solutions to reduce downtime.
• Apply maintenance and reliability best practices including RCFA, RCM, FMEA, and asset criticality.
• Support MOC activities and participate in capital projects with Engineering.
• Develop technical documentation for repairs and improvements.
• Support equipment checkout, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Participate in Process Hazard Analyses, safety audits, and incident investigations as needed.
• Maintain equipment documentation and drawings to support long-term mechanical integrity.
