Job summary

Weis Markets is seeking a Service Technician to maintain refrigeration systems across Maryland and Virginia, with travel from Hagerstown to Fredericksburg. You will perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and safety-driven service tasks, while training new technicians.

The role requires post-secondary refrigeration training or 5 years of experience, EPA Type I/II certification, a valid license, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in varying conditions. Competitive pay offered.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary technical training in refrigeration or related field.
• Five years of experience in maintenance of commercial refrigeration systems.
• EPA certification (Type I and II) in proper refrigeration practices.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record; insurable.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service requests to repair supermarket refrigeration systems and related equipment.
• Complete service reports, time sheets, and records documenting activities.
• Maintain contact with dispatch to receive new service calls.
• Perform periodic preventive maintenance inspections and keep the service van clean and safe.
• Communicate needs to Service Supervisor and advise on necessary actions.
• Train new Service Techs and ensure safe operation of equipment.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns when possible.
• Directly observe food safety and hygiene rules.
