Job summary

Place Services Inc. is seeking a Refrigeration Startup Technician to install and set up refrigeration systems in the Knoxville, TN area, with work across NC, AL, TN, SC and GA. The role requires day and night shifts and offers a highly competitive compensation package.

The ideal candidate will have HVAC-R training or 2 years of direct on-site service experience, strong communication, and the ability to travel to customer sites while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School/GED and HVAC-R training or 2 years experience in HVAC-R preferred.
• 1+ year of on-site service and repair of parallel rack refrigeration systems.
• Solid written and verbal communication to grow and maintain customer relationships.
• Available to work nights and/or weekends.
• Physically able to walk, bend, crouch, climb ladders, work at heights and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations to install and set up refrigeration systems per specifications and design plans.
• Diagnose and resolve refrigeration equipment issues; troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control systems to identify root causes and solutions.
• Maintain records of installation, maintenance, and repair activities; document equipment specs and performance data.
• Ensure safety regulations and industry standards during installation and maintenance; conduct inspections for QA.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to coordinate timelines and objectives; communicate effectively for alignment.
