Wheeler Machinery Co. in Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking a Field Recruiter to attract talent for a range of roles with a focus on Heavy Equipment Technicians.

This hands-on, field-based position emphasizes community outreach, school partnerships, and building a strong pipeline of skilled technicians. In this role you will visit branches and training centers, partner with schools, screen candidates, schedule interviews, and report on recruiting activity to meet hiring goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate or bachelors degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of recruiting experience, preferably in skilled trades, heavy equipment, construction, or industrial settings.
• Experience recruiting technicians or skilled trades preferred.
• Field recruiting or high-volume hiring experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Recruit for all roles across Wheeler, with a primary focus on Heavy Equipment Technicians.
• Find and engage qualified candidates through direct outreach, networking, referrals, and community events.
• Visit branches, job sites, technical schools, high schools, and training centers to promote career opportunities at Wheeler. Build and maintain a steady pipeline of technician candidates, including students and entry-level talent.
• Build strong relationships with technical colleges, high schools, diesel and heavy equipment programs, and workforce development agencies.
• Screen applicants for technical skills, certifications, experience, and fit for the role.
• Schedule interviews and work closely with hiring managers and service leaders throughout the hiring process.
• Keep candidates informed and provide a positive experience from first contact through offer.
• Keep candidate and activity records up to date in the applicant tracking system.
• Track and report on recruiting activity, pipeline, and hiring goals.
• Represent Wheeler professionally and positively in all community and candidate interactions.
• Promote Wheeler as an employer of choice in the heavy equipment and power systems industry.
