Job summary

BurnBot in South San Francisco is seeking a frontend software engineer to own the operator interface for live burn missions. You’ll handle mission planning, live supervision, mapping, alarms, and the fleet tooling that operators touch in the sun and smoke.

Candidates bring 5+ years of production frontend experience with TypeScript and React, plus experience with real-time browser data and geospatial UI (Mapbox/Leaflet).

• 5+ years building production front-end software.
• Strong TypeScript and React capabilities.
• Experience with real-time data in the browser.
• Geospatial UI work with maps.

Responsibilities

• Own the operator interface with live telemetry, video, and controls.
• Plan missions and mapping: boundaries and plans.
• Manage alarms and escalation prompts.
• Contribute to the design system as the fleet grows.
• Work with crews in the field to validate UX.
