Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a field-ready professional to support Distribution Line Operations by pre-inspecting jobs and minimizing safety exposures in the field. You will plan, schedule, and coordinate work with planners, while visiting sites to verify readiness and maintain clear communications with customers and engineers.

You will apply safety checklists, assist with storm restoration, and provide reports and metrics to ensure compliance with FirstEnergy practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or related field with 1–2 years of experience or 3+ years in lieu of degree.
• Knowledge of NESC and NEC codes and customer guidelines.
• Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and procedures to plan work.
• Experience with engineering design, maintenance, and utility distribution practices.
• Professionalism to liaise with engineers, management, customers, and contractors.
• Proficiency in Office apps, SAP, GIS, CREWS, CAD/AutoCAD, and data tools.

Responsibilities

• Pre-inspect jobs to ensure readiness and safety readiness in the field.
• Plan and schedule activities, manage work queue, staffing, and materials.
• Coordinate with planners to set start and completion dates.
• Visit sites to confirm readiness and communicate with stakeholders.
• Apply safety checklists and assist with storm restoration readiness.
• Maintain documentation, reports, and performance metrics.
• Support emergencies and travel to various locations as needed.
• Provide back-up support to Planner/Scheduler as required.
