Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in railroad track construction, track inspection, railroad maintenance, or related rail infrastructure work.
• Practical knowledge of track construction methods and railroad standards.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, project specifications, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of railroad track construction, rehabilitation, and related infrastructure work.
• Monitor contractor activities to verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, contract documents, and railroad standards.
• Inspect track components and construction activities, including track installation, ballast placement, grading, drainage, and related work.
• Document construction progress, inspection findings, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
• Identify deviations from project requirements and coordinate with project management, engineering staff, and contractors to resolve issues.
• Verify that work is performed in accordance with safety requirements and project quality standards.
• Prepare daily inspection reports, field notes, photographs, and other project documentation.
• Participate in construction meetings and provide updates on work progress, quality, and potential issues.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to support schedule adherence and successful project delivery.
• Maintain a strong commitment to jobsite safety and compliance with railroad operating and roadway worker protection requirements.
