Job summary

PSC Group is seeking a Mobile Railcar Repair Technician to join a safety‑driven, hands‑on team in Texas. This full‑time role requires traveling up to 75% while performing railcar repairs, inspections, and maintenance, interpreting work orders, and following FRA/AAR/ARS standards.

On‑the‑job training available; prior experience is welcome but not required. You must pass background checks and drug screening, wear PPE, and maintain punctual on‑site attendance.

Qualifications

• Experience is a plus but not required, and paid on-the-job training is available.
• May require a valid Driver’s License and / or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location.
• 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Wear all required PPE without restriction and pass any required medical exams.
• Speak, write, read fluent English.
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required.
• Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Willing to travel 50%–75%.
• Assist with tank qualification on railcars.
• Work safely around heavy equipment, railcars, and tracks.
• Perform and coordinate railcar repairs and maintenance.
• Operate forklift/telehandler as needed.
• Prepare railcars for visual inspections (grinding, torching, buffing).
• Interpret work orders and blueprints for repairs.
• Use mechanical skills for welding, cutting, and gouging; report needed materials or equipment.
• Follow safety rules and maintain clean work areas.
• Ensure compliance with FRA, AAR, ARS, and customer standards.
• Complete other assigned duties as required.
