Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Quality Technician to provide technical support, perform installations, conduct maintenance, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards at customer sites. This role requires hands-on expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, strong troubleshooting skills, and a customer-focused mindset. The Field Service Technician will represent the company on-site, ensuring proper execution of service activities and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Interpret single-line diagrams & review electrical designs from clients.
- Schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned projects.
- Provide customer support throughout each stage of a project.
- Review quotes, submittals, and project specific technical questions.
- Maintain a database of project-specific information including technical data & timelines.
- Collaborate with customers and internal design team to improve products and processes.
- Work with Quality & Cable Engineers as well as internal/external sources to answer all technical questions.
- Travel to project sites to solve customer concerns.
- Participate in trade shows, customer visits, sales training & workshops.
- Other assignments as needed.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Field Operations
- Develop, implement, and maintain field quality assurance processes, standards, and documentation.
- Conduct on-site inspections, audits, and testing of installations and service activities to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Monitor and analyze field performance data to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
- Investigate non-conformances, field failures, and warranty claims, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Conduct inspections and field quality checks to verify installations meet company and industry standards (NEC, UL, IEC).
- Complete service reports, work orders, and field documentation with high accuracy.
- Adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
- Support warranty claim investigations by providing technical data and feedback.
- Serve as liaison between customers, contractors, field teams, and internal departments (engineering, construction, procurement, sales).
- Manage service documentation, work orders, and field reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Provide support on emergency service responses and critical field issues.
- Provide field technical expertise and technical guidance to service technicians and installation crews.
Onsite Installation and Maintenance
- Perform on-site installation, commissioning, and preventive maintenance of equipment and systems.
- Follow established procedures and technical documentation to ensure quality and safety compliance.
- Conduct functional testing and calibration to validate system performance.
- Assist in equipment upgrades, retrofits, and modifications as required.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, or system failures during field operations.
- Perform root cause analysis of field issues and provide immediate corrective actions.
- Document problems and escalate unresolved issues to engineering or quality teams.
- Ensure minimal downtime and customer impact during service interventions.
Customer Support & Communication
- Act as on-site point of contact for customers during service activities.
- Provide clear explanations of technical findings and recommended solutions.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach during all interactions.
- Conduct post-service follow-ups to ensure satisfaction and issue resolution.
- Provide feedback from the field to improve product design, installation procedures, and service practices.
- Participate in technical training to remain current with evolving technologies and standards.
- Share best practices with colleagues to strengthen the field service team.
Education/Experience/Skills
- Associate’s or bachelor’s in electrical, Mechanical, or related technical field preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in field service, maintenance, or technical operations.
- Hands-on experience with electrical systems, wiring, harnesses, or renewable energy systems (solar preferred) or other related industry.
- 1+ years of experience in Quality Management, Quality assurance or related technical field
- 1+ years supporting or participating on field operations or Field service activities, customer service, claims management, or project coordination.
- Knowledge of installation procedures, maintenance protocols, and safety standards.
- Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with field service tools, mobile applications, and reporting software.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple service calls and priorities.
- Problem-solving mindset for diagnosing field issues effectively.
- Ability to work independently in diverse environments (construction sites, outdoor, industrial).
- Certifications in electrical systems, renewable energy (e.g., NABCEP), or HVAC.
- OSHA safety training or equivalent.
- Experience with quality management systems and service documentation tools.
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish proficiency).
- Fundamental understanding of PV - solar system /renewable energy background
- Knowledge of warranty management and claims processes.
- Ability to travel up to 90-95 % for customer service visits, audits, and trade shows.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency.
- Detail-oriented with demonstrated accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Creative and enthusiastic about creating solutions to customer problems.
- Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision. Adaptive learner and apply learning to job functions.

Physical & Travel Requirements / Work Environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, walk, bend, and work at heights or in confined spaces as required.
- Frequent exposure to outdoor conditions and construction/industrial environments.
- Travel up to 90-95% of the time, including overnight and occasional international travel.
- Valid driver’s license required; must adhere to all company and site safety requirements.
- May require extended or irregular hours to support field operations.
