Job summary

Herzog Contracting Corp. is seeking Quality Engineer Interns across the United States to join our team in multiple locations.

You will work alongside our Project Quality Manager and Quality Inspectors, gaining hands-on exposure to heavy civil construction and project documentation. This internship is designed to develop your understanding of project plans, quality systems, and how to verify that facilities are built to contract specifications for their design life.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pursuing a degree.
• Must be flexible in working in both office and field environment as needed.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with a team.
• Must have strong organization skills.
• Must be highly motivated.

Responsibilities

• Analyze contract documents, technical specifications, and design drawings to understand quality requirements.
• Assist in managing and organizing all quality-related documentation, including inspection reports, test results, submittals, and certifications.
• Conduct daily field inspections of work-in-progress to verify compliance with plans and specs.
• Schedule and witness independent third-party materials testing.
• Assist in ensuring all materials meet specified standards, including material tags and certifications.
• Work with superintendents, foremen, and crews to clarify quality standards and address issues in real time.
• Assist with documenting and reporting quality status, non-conformances, and trends to the Project Manager and Quality Manager.
• Engage in Herzog’s Culture and essential behaviors; maintain attendance and punctuality.
