Job summary

The Quality Control Technician inspects work performed by client employees, internal employees, or client subcontractors. Work is inspected for process and specification compliance against company/client guidelines.

(This purpose is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon client.) Essential duties include inspecting locations for compliance with specifications, evaluating safety, installation, and troubleshooting, and using testing equipment per client specs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant inspection experience in telecom/construction/utilities.
• Proficient with Windows and Android operating systems; tablet preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Able to read blueprints and use testing equipment like an OTDR.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Inspect assigned work locations for compliance with client/company specs.
• Conduct inspections of safety, installation, and troubleshooting aspects.
• Use testing equipment according to client specs and prepare procedures.
• Record results in data sheets and forms; report findings to supervision.
• Develop project-specific checklists and standards for inspections.
• Ensure timely inspections and track activities and metrics.
• Deliver feedback and training to employees/contractors as needed.
• Travel to work sites as required; work independently or in teams.
