Field Quality Control Inspector

JOB OVERVIEW

The right candidate will be responsible for daily quality inspection and documentation on a team of steel fabricators and welders.

Responsibilities for Field Quality Control Inspector

• Addresses daily quality concerns and questions


• Troubleshoots manufacturing problems and quality issues


• Work closely with operation teams to ensure process controls are in place and adequate to meet standard requirements


• Ensure that any non-conforming product is properly identified, quarantined and communicated


• Examines material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and incomplete welds


• Verifies specified dimensions of product or material


• Conduct incoming material inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection to procedures, specifications, drawings, samples, or illustrations


• Review Changes according to specifications


• Inspect the work each day for compliance with the plans and specifications and all other applicable contract documents such as RFIs, Deviation Waivers, etc.


• Document all quality control activities


• Supervise and coordinate the inspections and tests made by subcontractors and other members of the Quality Control Team


• Ensure that all tests required, or necessary, are performed and that the results of such tests shall be reported


• Take prompt action to identify and correct all quality deficiencies. Maintain a Non-Conformance log including responsible party and critical resolution date(s)


• Compile data packages for turn over to customer for construction closeout periodically when individual systems are complete

Qualifications for Field Quality Control Inspector

• A high school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of production experience, specifically in the areas of quality assurance or production control experience, construction


• An associate's degree or equivalent is a benefit any quality related training or certification


• Experience with maintaining accurate records experience with accurate measurement capability


• A strong knowledge of computer skills with a focus on the Microsoft Office package


• Knowledge and work history of focusing on quality and safety in every aspect of the job


• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or above is desired
