Job summary

Wagner Construction is seeking a Quality Control Technician to support daily field QC activities on assigned projects to ensure work follows plans, specifications, approved submittals, and applicable standards.

This field-based, boots-on-the-ground role works with the QC Manager, Project Manager, Superintendent, Foremen, subcontractors, testing agencies, and other project personnel to document inspections, verify materials, assist with testing, and maintain quality records.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, or related field preferred
• Entry-level candidates with relevant construction education or 1–3 years of construction-related experience encouraged to apply
• Experience in heavy civil construction, earthwork, underground utilities, concrete, paving, or site development preferred
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation
• Proficiency with common business applications including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections to verify compliance with plans, specs, submittals, and quality standards
• Prepare and maintain daily QC reports, inspection records, testing documentation, and photos
• Coordinate and monitor field testing with third-party labs and subcontractors
• Observe earthwork, grading, underground utilities, concrete, paving, and other definable features
• Verify materials delivered meet approved submittals and project requirements
• Maintain organized photographic documentation of progress and quality issues
• Assist with tracking RFIs, submittals, testing reports, and inspection documentation
• Support closeout activities including final inspections and punch lists
