Job summary

Divcon is seeking a Field QA/QC Tech to implement the Mission Critical HVAC Control QAQC plan, with a blend of office analysis in Irving and extensive travel to job sites. You will review drawings, support ISO 9001 documentation, and coordinate QA/QC activities across departments while ensuring readiness for inspections and project milestones.

This role requires 2+ years in BMS installation/commissioning, 3+ years QA/QC experience, and OSHA 10; HVAC automation and BIM software are preferred

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in installing, configuring, and commissioning BMS systems.
  • 3+ years of experience in QA/QC or related roles
  • 3+ years of experience working with ISO 9001 standards
  • OSHA 10 certification required; training provided if not current within first week
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to work independently in field and office environments
  • HVAC automation experience preferred
  • BIM software experience preferred

  • Assist in development and standardization of documentation aligned with ISO 9001
  • Support implementation of standardized file systems and quality processes
  • Facilitate QA/QC coordination across departments
  • Evaluate job sites for compliance with quality standards
  • Act as company representative with customer and contractor quality teams
  • Support commissioning, TAB activities, and project milestones
  • Ensure field teams are prepared for inspections and project delivery requirements
  • Execute detailed commissioning plans, including functional testing and system calibration for BMS
  • Perform on-site commissioning activities, including wiring and system integration
  • Independently interpret blueprints and technical documents
  • Perform functional testing of the specified sequence of operations
  • Troubleshooting to ensure proper performance of field devices and wiring
  • Collaborate with Lead Controls Technicians, Engineers, and customers to address concerns
  • Required to work daily at the office in Irving when not traveling

About The Role

This job is a field and office hybrid. Extensive travel is required. The Field QA/QC Tech will be responsible for implementing company’s Mission Critical HVAC Control QAQC plan, under supervision of the QAQC manager. This includes office-based analytical and reporting work, as well as traveling to any job site in the field to perform conformance checks and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review DDC/PLC drawings for compliance with scope and sequence of operations
  • Assist in development and standardization of documentation aligned with ISO 9001
  • Support implementation of standardized file systems and quality processes
  • Facilitate QA/QC coordination across departments
  • Evaluate job sites for compliance with quality standards
  • Act as company representative with customer and contractor quality teams
  • Support commissioning, TAB activities, and project milestones
  • Ensure field teams are prepared for inspections and project delivery requirements
  • Execute detailed commissioning plans, including functional testing, sequence of operations, point-to-point verification, and system calibration for BMS systems with minimal supervision.
  • Perform on-site commissioning activities, including wiring, termination, point-to-point verification, and system integration with other building systems (HVAC, lighting, security).
  • Independently interpret blueprints and other technical documents.
  • Perform functional testing of the specified sequence of operations to ensure proper operation of the control equipment
  • Troubleshooting to ensure proper performance of all field devices, controllers, and associated wiring.
  • Collaborate with Lead Controls Technicians, Engineers, and customers to address concerns, clarify requirements, solve issues and facilitate smooth project completion.
  • Required to work daily at the office in Irving when not traveling
Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience in installing, configuring, and commissioning BMS systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of BMS protocols, hardware, software, and programming languages to troubleshoot complex system issues and coach more junior team members.
  • 3+ years of experience in QA/QC or related roles
  • 3+ years of experience working with ISO 9001 standards
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to work independently in field and office environments
  • HVAC automation experience preferred
  • BIM software experience preferred
  • OSHA 10 certification obtained within the past two (2) years is required.
    • If certification is not current or has not been completed, OSHA 10 training will be provided and must be successfully completed within the first week of employment.
Physical Requirements
  • This role requires frequent travel by plane or car to job sites, up to 50% of the time.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout job sites for extended periods
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs and lifts as required
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work in tight or confined spaces
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and materials up to 50 pounds
  • Manual dexterity to handle tools, wiring, and small components
  • Ability to work at heights and in varying indoor and outdoor conditions
  • Visual keenness to read schematics, labels, and digital displays
  • Ability to hear and respond to alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions
  • Capability to safely operate hand and power tools
