Job summary

Rain for Rent in Indianapolis is seeking a skilled field service mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair pumps and pumping systems at customer sites across the region. You will troubleshoot priming, centrifugal pump curves, and related electrical components while ensuring safe, compliant operations.

Travel will be required to customer locations; you will load, install, test, and document work orders, participate in on-call rotations, and support lower-level technicians as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform a full inspection on a pump independently.
• Ability to diagnose and repair pump ends, priming systems, and electrical components.
• Ability to troubleshoot centrigual pump systems and understand pump curves.
• Ability to load, secure, deliver, install, and test pumps for customers.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites for troubleshooting or repairs.
• Ability to work with pipe fittings, flanges, and safe assembly methods.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, examine, and test pumps using pressure gauges or hydrostatic testing.
• Diagnose and repair pump ends, priming systems, and electrical components.
• Troubleshoot priming and performance issues on centrifugal pump systems.
• Load, secure, deliver, unload, and install pumps for customers.
• Travel to customer sites to troubleshoot or perform repairs as needed.
• Complete paperwork/electronic documents as required.
