Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. in Leadville, Colorado, is seeking a maintenance/industrial repair specialist for the milling plant. The role involves safe maintenance, installation, and repair of equipment, along with adherence to safety and quality standards.

Requirements include at least one year of related experience, the ability to read schematics/blueprints, and completion of required education with a written assessment. On-site work and rotating shifts may apply as part of a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

  • One year of experience in mechanical/maintenance or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and use schematics and blueprints.
  • Completion of required academic competencies and passing a written assessment on technical skills and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Safely performs maintenance, installation, and repair of equipment and processes in the Milling plant including mills, conveyors, screens and like systems.
  • Assist with and perform component replacement and repairs on, but not limited to: conveyor systems, ball mills, auto mills, screen decks, lube systems, filter drums, crushers, hydraulic filter presses, and foundry pumps
  • Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance: identify potential failures/noises/wear on agitators, rotors, belts, pulleys, gear boxes
  • May perform welding (Stick, TIG)
  • Responsible for maintaining work orders, a clean and safe work area and performing work area inspections
  • Perform other duties as required

What You Will Do

What You Bring To Freeport
  • One (1) year of experience in mechanical/maintenance or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance
  • Ability read and use schematics and blue prints
  • Must have completed academic and competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees), and have experience demonstrating required mechanical aptitude. Selected candidate shall demonstrate ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while also passing a written assessment. This exam is based on technical skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $26.00 - $33.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
