The Field Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management and successful execution of multiple large-scale customer projects simultaneously, from initial planning through completion. This role has overall responsibility for all aspects of assigned projects, including project planning and coordination, cost analysis and budget management, schedule and timeline management, resource planning, documentation, customer communication, and coordination of internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and customer personnel. The Field Project Manager is accountable for monitoring project performance, identifying risks and potential issues, developing corrective actions, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
The Field Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact and project owner throughout the project lifecycle, providing strong communication and coordination between the customer and internal ENGEL teams. While the role requires significant on-site involvement during project execution, the position is also responsible for the necessary back-office project management activities, including project tracking, cost and financial analysis, forecasting, scheduling, reporting, documentation, and follow-up. The ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects at different stages of execution is essential.
The position requires extensive travel and a significant on-site presence at customer facilities supporting installations, modifications, commissioning activities, maintenance projects, and service operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, technically knowledgeable, and comfortable managing multiple complex projects in dynamic field environments while maintaining strong oversight of project scope, costs, schedules, resources, and customer expectations.
This position regularly operates in customer facilities, industrial plants, manufacturing environments, and active project sites. Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, machinery, and construction-related conditions may occur while performing on‑site responsibilities.
Approximately 75% travel is required, including frequent overnight travel and extended periods working at customer facilities throughout the United States.
