Job summary

SumCo Eco-Contracting in Massachusetts seeks a Civil/Environmental Construction Professional with 2+ years of field experience. The role supports field crews, reads plans, sources materials, and assists with bidding and cost tracking.

You'll coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers across New England, travel as needed, and ensure bids reflect scope and risk while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering preferred.
• 2+ years in construction or environmental restoration.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Take direction from the Team Lead or their delegate.
• Read and understand plans, specifications and permit requirements.
• Coordinate material orders and equipment, and communicate with subcontractors.
• Support field crews, with travel throughout New England.
• Use GPS for surveying and layout.
• Assist with job cost tracking and invoicing.
• Obtain bidding documents and set response timelines.
• Analyze bid documents for scope, schedule and risk.
• Attend pre-bid meetings.
• Perform take-offs and prepare bid sheets.
• Request and manage pricing for materials, subcontractors, equipment and labor.
