Job Description Summary:

The Field Project Engineer will perform management of field engineering, inspections, construction, commissioning, FAT at vendor workshops, develop ITPs, conduct contractor walkthroughs, review bids, and assist with contractor selection. They will lead site construction and commissioning teams to ensure project objectives, safety, schedule, cost, and quality standards are met.

  • Serve as the on-site contact for construction and commissioning management.
  • Oversee safety compliance including site orientation, permits, safety analyses, toolbox talks, audits, and events.
  • Verify receipt and inspection of materials, manage non-conformities, and material custody transfer.
  • Manage project documents from development to handover, ensuring quality and specifications.
  • Coordinate with external/internal suppliers and ensure scope coverage.
  • Expedite deliveries and maintain communication logs.
  • Develop and manage construction and commissioning schedules, report delays.
  • Respond to RFIs promptly, manage project changes, and track open actions.
  • Support contract administration and potential dispute resolution.
  • Maintain project knowledge to fill in for the Project Manager if needed.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years of field construction or related experience

Preferred:

  • BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (preferred)
  • Experience managing projects
  • Industrial gas experience
