Job Description Summary:

The Field Project Engineer will perform field engineering management, inspections, construction and commissioning management, FAT at vendor workshops, develop ITPs, conduct contractor walkthroughs, review bids, and assist in contractor selection. The role involves leading site construction and commissioning teams to complete activities in line with project objectives, priorities, contracts, and specifications. Success is measured by safety, cost control, schedule adherence, and quality assurance.

  • Serve as on-site contact for construction and commissioning management.
  • Oversee safety compliance, including site orientation, permits, safety analysis, toolbox meetings, and audits.
  • Verify receipt and inspection of materials, manage non-conformities, and material custody transfers.
  • Manage project documents from development to handover, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Manage external/internal suppliers to meet project goals and scope coverage.
  • Expedite deliveries and assist in communication with external partners.
  • Develop and manage construction and commissioning schedules, reporting delays promptly.
  • Respond to RFIs swiftly, manage project plans, and monitor changes.
  • Maintain communication within the project team and support contract administration.
  • Track and escalate changes and open action items.
  • Develop knowledge of all project aspects to support or temporarily fill in for the Project Manager.
  • Contribute to construction and commissioning strategies during project development.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years of field construction or related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (preferred)
  • Experience managing projects (plus)
  • Industrial gas experience (plus)
