Job summary

Kentucky State University seeks a Junior Project Coordinator to provide administrative, operational, field, and program coordination for a regional workforce development and ecological restoration initiative. The role connects university partners, landowners, trainees, and community groups across Eastern Kentucky.

Based in Martin County with regular travel, the coordinator will maintain records, support recruitment, coordinate training, and assist with grant reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field as listed in the job description.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate schedules, records, events, programs, and multiple concurrent activities.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly throughout Eastern Kentucky.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily administrative, field, and training activities for the project.
• Develop and maintain schedules for workshops, field demonstrations, online instruction, apprenticeships, and community events.
• Coordinate access and logistics at Appalachian Restoration Program Learning Center and other project sites.
• Support recruitment, enrollment, communication, engagement, and retention of trainees.
• Coordinate instructors, partners, Extension personnel, and project staff.
• Assist with field demonstrations, site prep, data collection, and documentation of restoration activities.
• Collect and organize monitoring and evaluation data with faculty and staff.
• Prepare activity summaries and reports for funding and institutional reporting.
• Monitor timelines, milestones, expenditures, and procurement needs.
