Job summary

ChampionX is seeking an experienced Field Production Chemist for duties at North Slope facilities, with rotation 14/14 or 28/28. The role requires a chemistry/engineering background and the ability to travel to Anchorage, Alaska for rotations.

You will monitor chemical programs, optimize processes, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety and performance. Ideal candidates have a chemistry-related degree and 3+ years of chemical industry experience, strong problem-solving

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial), or life sciences.
  • 3 years of chemical industry experience.
  • Chemical application knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to travel within assigned sales territory.
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
  • No immigration sponsorship offered for this role (US Only).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor chemical programs at North Slope facilities and seek process improvements.
  • Assess separation efficiency and recommend process enhancements.
  • Monitor produced fluids chemistry and propose solutions.
  • Oversee facility utility systems and plan chemical maintenance.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for production chemistry issues.
  • Coordinate daily with field operations and conduct field inspections.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor chemical programs at all North Slope facilities and focus on continuous improvement of current chemical applications.
  • Monitor separation efficiency at each facility and recommend improvements to the processes.
  • Monitor the chemistry of produced fluids, anticipate associated problems, and recommend solutions.
  • Monitor facility utility systems and recommend required chemical maintenance.
  • Remain an expert in chemical technology and application.
  • Act as the single point of contact for all production chemistry issues.
  • Utilize proactive problem‑solving skills as production challenges arise.
  • Implement and execute chemical programs, supporting improvement focus on product development and testing.
  • Conduct daily coordination meetings to align field operations.
  • Perform field inspections and tours to assess operational conditions.
  • Execute inventory audits at chemical injection points.
  • Monitor and regulate dosage levels at injection sites.
  • Collect production fluid samples and perform laboratory testing.
  • Compile and submit detailed technical and economic performance reports.
  • Maintain relationships with managers, R&D, marketing, corrosion engineers, materials coordinators, field production chemists, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with North Slope contract requirements.
Position Details

Rotational schedule: 14 days on, 14 days off, 21 days on, 21 days off OR 28 days on, 28 days off. Individual can live anywhere within the United States, but must be able to travel to Anchorage, Alaska for duration of rotation.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial), or life sciences (biology, chemistry, etc.) or related fields.
  • 3 years of chemical industry experience.
  • Chemical application knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to travel within assigned sales territory.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
  • No immigration sponsorship offered for this role (US Only).
Physical Demands
  • May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 55 pounds chest high.
  • Role is deemed safety‑sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial), or Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, etc.)
  • 3+ years of successful technical sales or field sales support experience.
  • Experience in oil and gas industry.
