The Field Preventive Maintenance Technician performs field service inspections and general preventative maintenance based on customer service agreements. Responsibilities
- Contribute to a positive work environment and uphold BMC's values.
- Perform all responsibilities safely, promoting a safe and healthy workplace.
- Conduct oil, filter, and lubrication services, including checking and filling fluids per OEM specs, refueling as needed.
- Follow all Customer Service Agreement processes and maintain accurate records.
- Read and interpret Scheduled Oil Sample (SOS) reports and analyses.
- Provide service reports, oil samples, and inspection paperwork to customers.
- Inspect equipment for signs of potential failure and safety device conditions.
- Prepare timely and accurate service reports.
- Maintain service readiness of field lube trucks, including supplies.
- Understand proper startup and shutdown procedures of CAT equipment.
- Work flexible hours as needed to meet customer needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least one year of experience servicing heavy equipment or equivalent education/experience.
- Basic knowledge of heavy equipment operation, maintenance, and safety.
- Ability to perform machine inspections and operate a service vehicle.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Professional appearance and customer interaction skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency in computer software (Word, Excel).
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
Working Conditions
- Work both indoors (non-climate controlled) and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Use personal protective equipment as required.
- Physical activities include standing, stooping, lifting, and tool use.
- Must be able to lift varied weights and operate tools and machinery.
- Visual and manual dexterity required for reading, writing, and technology use.
