Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; two years journey level, master, or supervisory plumbing experience.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver's License or equivalent; Journeyman or Master Plumber's License required at appointment.
• ICC Commercial Plumbing Inspector certification required within six months of appointment.
• Plumbing Inspector License from the Texas State Board required within six months of appointment; application submission within one month.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections of assigned construction projects to enforce compliance with municipal, state and national plumbing and gas codes and regulations.
• Perform inspections of on-site plumbing and gas installations on new and remodeled sites and structures.
• Issue and post stop orders, corrections or citations as needed; respond to complaints; refer difficult situations to supervisor.
• Testify in court and before City boards and commissions as required; maintain certifications and comply with health and safety requirements.
